A harmonious and imposing eighteenth-century complex, today home to important international art exhibitions. It is one of the largest Venetian villas in Italy and was the home of the noble Manin family, including the last doge of the Republic of Venice.
The Dornberg, Tasso and Formentini houses house the War Museum, the Museum of Fashion and Applied Arts, the Archaeological Collection, the Ethnographic Collection and the Pinacoteca.
Inaugurated in 1927 on a project by the architect Berlam, it was built on the remains of an ancient Austrian fort dating back to the mid-nineteenth century. Monument dedicated to the sailors who fell during the First World War, it can be visited for free in spring and summer.
